Originally from Texas, Leran, moved from DC to the Boston area in January 2014 with his (now) wife and their two dogs. At the time he was finishing his thesis entitled The Whole Foods Effect: Ethical Consumption, Fair Trade and the Global South. He was an organizer and leader in the anti-genocide movement, particularly with STAND: A Student Anti-Genocide Coalition. Food has always been a passion of his...apparently his favorite game as a toddler was to "prepare food". He has also worked as a kitchen manager, food trucker and a grocery & produce buyer. In his more wistful moments he dreams of opening a super seasonally inspired pizza or ice cream shoppe. He works as Special Projects Coordinator for the Child Nutrition Outreach Program at Project Bread and serves on the board of Slow Food Boston.
